Netflix planning on releasing new Marvel series, possibly as soon as every six months.

daredevil-season-2Netflix, still enjoying the high from the extremely high viewership that came from the first of their Marvel series, Daredevil, shared with their subscriber base the news that all of their Marvel fans were waiting for, and that is Daredevil season 2 is in production and Jessica Jones is close to wrapping, as well as expecting more Marvel shows to come into people’s televisions.

Speaking at TCA the CEO for Netflix, Ted Sarandos, announced:

“I think ideally there will be a rhythm of about every six months you’ll get a new season or new series from the Defenders group. And they’ll crossover into a combined [Defenders] season once we’ve launched the first season of each of the four characters.”

Up next will be Jessica Jones, which is slated to appear in the fall, while Daredevil season 2 will probably return at the same time season 1 premiered, in the early spring. Around that time Luke Cage will go into production, which is about the same time that Jessica Jones did which will start to cement the 6-month cycle of new Marvel properties appearing on Netflix.

Netflix isn’t very far along with Iron Fist at the present time, only that Sarandos said that he hopes an announcement will be coming soon.
