According to Variety, Rebecca Ferguson (Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation), has been cast as the lead in the sci-fi film Life from Skydance, with screenplay written by the team of Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese (Deadpool).
The story takes place on the International Space Station where the crew has retrieved a small sample from Mars, only to discover that it is displaying signs of life. Not just life, but possibly life even more intelligent and cunning than they had previously expected.
Ferguson really broke out when she was cast as Isla Faust in Rogue Nation, and has even been cast to act opposite Michael Fassenber in The Snowmen, and The Girl on the Train with Emily Blunt.
No other details have been announced regarding Life, but given Ferguson’s current film schedule, plus any pre-production that may be involved in putting together Life it is possible that we may not see this movie in theaters until sometime around 2018.
