It’s never to early to get the band back together and The Hollywood Reporter brings word that Ant-Man scene-stealer Michael Peña is set to return for the upcoming sequel, Ant-Man and the Wasp, as Luis. Production on the sequel begins next year and star Paul Rudd recently revealed that their writing team had turned in a treatment for the film. Peña can next be seen in Warner Bros. big screen remake of CHiPS.
“I think the only thing I can tell you with certainty at this point, because we’re still about two years away from the movie coming out, is that it’s going to have stuff in it that you’ve never ever seen in a movie before,” according to Director Peyton Reed.
Reed and Rudd have been working with Transformers writers Andrew Barrer & Gabriel Ferrari and Academy Award winner Adam McKay (The Big Short) on the script for the film.
Ant-Man and the Wasp will feature the return of Paul Rudd as Scott Lang alongside Evangeline Lilly as Hope Van Dyne, with Michael Douglas also expected to reprise the role of Hank Pym in the film. Ant-Man and the Wasp is set for release on July 6, 2018. Its predecessor previously grossed over $519 million at the global box office.
We still have quite a few Marvel Studios films before Ant-Man and the Wasp, including Doctor Strange, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Thor: Ragnarok, Black Panther, and Avengers: Infinity War.
How did you enjoy Michael Peña’s performance in Ant-Man? Was the comedy too over the top? Will you be looking forward to him returning in Ant-Man and the Wasp?
